City of Rockport issued the following announcement on March 1
Today Governor Abbott issued an Executive Order (EO)for ALL of Texas that will have dramatic effects for us locally. For a copy of the Executive Order, please go to the City’s web site or click on this link .
The Executive Order goes into effect on Friday, March 20 at 11:59 PM (Saturday morning) and will continue through midnight on April 3. Highlights of the EO include:
- Limiting social gatherings to 10 people
- Prohibition on eating and drinking at restaurants and bars – although takeout and delivery orders of food and alcoholic beverages (with food purchase) are still available
- Closing of gyms
- Banning visitors at nursing homes, except for critical care
- Closing of schools
