City of Alice, Texas issued the following announcement on April 7
During Governor Abbott’s conference call on Tuesday April 7, 2020, Governor Abbott clarified that in conjunction with the Stay at Home Order, it was determined that Golf Courses are non-essential and will be closed effective Tuesday April 7, 2020 at 5:00 PM until further notice.
The City of Alice is continuing efforts to protect the health and safety of our patrons and staff while monitoring the recent COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak and continues to press the public to follow the CDC, Texas Department of State Health Services guidance on personal hygiene and to observe social distancing minimums of SIX (6) feet at all times.
If anyone chooses to use the golf trails as walking trails during the coronavirus outbreak, we urge them to be respectful of others and make responsible choices. Note that trail and park users may find limited access to public restrooms and water fountains. Do not use parks or trails if you are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms.
This guidance is current as of today but is a fluid and evolving situation changing by the hour.
We continue to urge everyone to keep abreast of the latest public health information via the CDC website at www.cdc.gov and Texas Department of State Health Services.
