Buz

City of Alice Texas issued the following announcement on May 4

Reopening City of Alice businesses

The City of Alice has received notification from County Judge Juan Rodriguez stating the Texas Department of State Health Services has determined Jim Wells County meets the threshold of 5 or fewer COVID-19 cases and may proceed from 25% to 50% capacity consistent with GA-18 and DSHS’ minimum health protocols for the following businesses:

Dine-in restaurant

Retail in-store

Movie Theater

Museum and Library

We would like to remind our citizens about current public health guidelines of social distancing and practicing good hygiene.

Please keep in mind that counties that filed the attestation and qualified for 50% occupancy will revert to the 25% occupancy limits if any of the following occurs:

  • Five consecutive testing / tracking intervals with positivity rates greater than 12% in that interval.
  • The county has more than 3 positive cases per 1,000 residents.
  • Less than 15% of the surge capacity in hospital for the catchment area is available.
Under GA-18, the Governor may, by proclamation, return any county to the essential services-only level.
