City of Ingleside, Tx issued the following announcement on May 14
Just because the product label says “flushable” doesn’t mean it’s okay for the City’s wastewater system. Flushable wipes do not break down like toilet paper and end up clogging sewer pipes and damaging pumps. This results in costly repairs on the homeowner or business owner’s side, or extensive time and expense on the City’s side of the system. Ultimately we all share the cost to maintain the City wastewater system, so we should all do our part to keep the collection systems and treatment plants running as smoothly as possible.

Remember, if you have clogged pipes between your residence and the street, you will have to pay for the repair, because the City will not fix it. Most times the problems are directly due to people flushing materials down the toilet that they should not. For the health of the community, and to avoid a potential costly repair bill, only flush toilet paper and approved hygiene items.
