10 schools across Jackson County welcome 3,128 students in 2020-2021 school year

Test 06

Jackson County enrolled 3,128 students in the 2020-2021 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

This is 373 fewer than the year before.

Jackson County was ranked 129th in enrollment among Texas counties.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
