Enrollment at Ganado ISD schools increased by 3.5% compared to previous school year

There were 738 students enrolled in Ganado ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 3.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 54.9% of them were girls, and 45.1% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 58.9% of the Ganado ISD total enrollment.

Ganado ISD roughly covers schools within Jackson County with its main office in Ganado.

Among the three schools in Ganado ISD, Ganado Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 353 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
