Karnes City ISD had the highest enrollment among Karnes County districts, with 1,021 students during the 2024-25 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.
Of all students enrolled in the 2024-25 school year, 50.4% were boys, and 49.6% were girls.
Data also showed that most of the students were Hispanic, representing 80% of the Karnes City ISD total enrollment.
Among the four districts in Karnes County, Kenedy ISD ranked second in enrollment numbers with 758 students, while Falls City ISD enrolled 442 students and ranked third in the 2024-25 school year.
Karnes City ISD roughly covers schools within Karnes County with its main office in Karnes City.
In the previous school year, Karnes City ISD also had the largest number of students among Karnes County districts.
Texas has the nation’s second-largest K-12 public school system, serving about 5.5 million students with a student-to-teacher ratio of roughly 15:1.
