UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON - VICTORIA: UHV student worker tests positive for COVID-19

Covidswab

University of Houston-Victoria issued the following announcement on June 24

“To the best of our knowledge, the student worker has only been in the UHV Athletics building and outside on campus, so exposure to others has been very limited,” UHV President Bob Glenn said.

The student worker immediately went into quarantine, and contact tracing will be coordinated with the Victoria County Public Health Department.

On June 15, about 15 percent of UHV staff came back to their offices on the Victoria campus and at the UHV Katy instructional site since the locations closed because of the pandemic. Both locations continue to be closed to the public, and classes are being offered online throughout the summer.

Classes will take place both in-person and online this fall with classrooms limited to 50 percent occupancy and about 70 percent of faculty and staff on campus and at UHV Katy.

“We take our responsibility to keep our students, faculty and staff safe very seriously and will continue to do so as we move forward,” Glenn said.
