Live Oak County schools enrolled 1,649 students during 2023-24 school year

There were 1,649 students enrolled in Live Oak County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 1.1% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

At the time, Live Oak County had the 79th lowest enrollment in the state.

Data also showed that Hispanic students made up 61.1% of the student body, the largest percentage in Live Oak County schools, followed by white students at 35.9%, American Indian students at 0.4%, Black students at 0.4%, Asian students at 0.4%, Pacific Islander students at 0.1% and multiracial students at 1.8%.

A recent study by WalletHub classified Texas as one of the least-educated states in the U.S., ranking it 41st out of 50 in educational quality and student outcomes.
