Cost of college went up for non-resident students at Victoria College

In-state tuition and fees fell 15.9 percent for 2018-19 at Victoria College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas residents paid $3,408 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $642 less than the $4,050 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 72.5 percent more than residents this year, or $5,880. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 26.5 percent from $4,650 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Texas residents.

Data shows 74 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 203 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.1 million and 25 students took out student loans totaling more than $123,339.

Including all undergraduates (3,860), 1,973 students used grants or scholarships totaling $6.1 million, and 405 students took out $2.1 million in federal student loans.
