Victoria ISD issued the following announcement on Nov. 16
The Victoria ISD Talent Acquisition, Support and Retention (TASR) department has found additional avenues to
support staff through the hiring process, trainings, and continued support in their role within the district.
In order to limit face-to-face interactions since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the processes are now taking place virtually. The TASR office has moved almost all components of new hire paperwork to be accessible online, simplified the new hire onboarding process, made district-required trainings available online, moved to increased use of the district's Employee Access Center, updated the HR/TASR website to increase user friendliness and timeliness, and continued to make in-person appointments as needed.
Virtual socials with teaching staff are helping to ensure the TASR office is providing necessary supports. The first
social was held for new teachers to the district in October. Another is planned later this month for all teachers. The format of these socials includes no agenda. It is an environment for brainstorming, sharing of ideas, and collaboration.
“The staff response to these additional efforts has been phenomenal and appreciated,” stated Executive Director of Talent Acquisition, Support and Retention Tammy Nobles. “We are doing a variety of things virtually in an effort to not only accommodate and keep staff safe, but also to provide support to our employees working so hard with fulfill their duties, roles and responsibilities.”
In conjunction with the TASR office, VISD’s Employee Benefits Office is also sharing information with employees on a monthly basis. Topics range from mental well-being to details on how district insurance plans can be better utilized.
