Woodsboro ISD welcomed 438 students in 2021-22 school year

There were 438 students enrolled in Woodsboro ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.5% of them were girls, and 49.5% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 58% of the Woodsboro ISD total enrollment.

Woodsboro ISD roughly covers schools within Refugio County with its main office in Woodsboro.

Among the two schools in Woodsboro ISD, Woodsboro Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 248 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
