Enrollment at Three Rivers ISD schools decreased by 3.8% compared to previous school year

There were 585 students enrolled in Three Rivers ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.5% of them were boys, and 48.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 64.6% of the Three Rivers ISD total enrollment.

Three Rivers ISD roughly covers schools within Live Oak County with its main office in Three Rivers.

Among the two schools in Three Rivers ISD, Three Rivers Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 318 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
