George West ISD schools Education: 420 white students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 420 white students enrolled in George West ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.7% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that George West ISD schools welcomed 1,083 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 38.8% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

George West ISD roughly covers schools within Live Oak County and has a main office in George West.

Among the four schools in George West ISD schools, George West Primary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 150 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
